We pour our candles with black wax because black absorbs and dispels negative energies and provides new beginnings and clarity as when the light of the vela appears, the darkness is illuminated. VELA NEGRA is a powerful source of protection, comfort and strength. What inspires our fragrances? The unique fragrances of VELA NEGRA are inspired by various elements of my Afro-Cuban and Guyanese heritage. The fragrances and their namesakes remind me of my heritage and places like, Cuba and Puerto Rico, that I have been lucky enough to call home.
